Clinical waste sacks
Cromwell offer a range of clinical waste sacks. These are used by healthcare, clinical, and specialist waste collection companies, to help comply with European legislation for the collection, transport, and disposal of appropriate wastes as detailed in the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) classification 18 01 Wastes from natal care, diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of disease in humans.

Hazardous Waste for Incineration Bags
(Yellow bags
with/without printing) Body parts and organs including blood bags and
blood preserves, includes category A waste. These wastes are
categorised as hazardous under the EU Transportation of Hazardous Goods
regulations and are required to be transported in bags or containers
which comply with the UN packaging requirements.
Disposal method: Incineration.
Infectious and Potentially Infectious Waste
For treatment
at a Licensed/permitted Facility - (Orange Bags with printing) EWC no.
18 01 03* UN number UN3291. Waste whose collection and disposal is
subject to special requirements in order to prevent infection.
Disposal method: Licensed / permitted treatment facility.
Offensive/Hygiene Waste
(Yellow Bags with black stripe, Tiger Bags)
EWC
no. 18 01 04 and 20 01 991 UN number N/A. Wastes whose collection and
disposal is not subject to special requirements in order to prevent
infection (for example dressing, plaster casts, linen, disposal
clothing, diapers). These wastes may previously have been classified as
group E waste.
Disposal method: deep landfill.
